Electric Bus Funding Assistance

As the shift to electric buses accelerates, numerous grants and incentives are coming available to reduce the cost of taking your fleet electric.

With funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, EPA’s new Clean School Bus (CSB) Program provides a historic $5 billion over five years (FY22-26) for the replacement of existing school buses with low and zero-emission school buses. Over $500 million was awarded under the first round of funding through the 2022 CSB Rebates Program.

EPA will make available another $1 billion for clean school buses in Fiscal Year 2023. The second round of applications will open in February 2023. EPA encourages school districts not selected in the first round of rebates – and those that did not apply during the first funding cycle – to participate in future rounds.
