Bus Sales Manager - Eastern NC Region

Position Summary

Carolina Thomas is seeking a motivated and experienced Bus Sales Manager to serve our Eastern North Carolina territory. Under general supervision, this role is responsible for developing new business, maintaining strong customer relationships, and managing the full sales process from initial contact through bus delivery.

What You’ll Do

Bus Sales & Customer Management

  • Identify and develop new customer relationships while supporting existing accounts
  • Sell new and used school buses and commercial bus products
  • Manage the entire sales process from initial contact through delivery
  • Achieve individual unit sales goals and support overall market share objectives
  • Become proficient in all bus ordering and procurement systems
  • Work closely with the sales coordinator to ensure vehicles are properly prepared for delivery

Fleet Electrification

  • Guide customers through fleet electrification projects as needed
  • Assist with both bus purchasing and infrastructure requirements to ensure successful implementation

Used Bus Procurement & Resale

  • Identify and purchase used buses within the assigned territory
  • Coordinate payment and pickup of vehicles
  • Oversee processing and preparation of used buses for resale

Bids, Contracts & Deliveries

  • Assist with the development of state contracts and bid submittals
  • Review bids and generate quotes, seat plans, and pricing options
  • Support costing, pricing, markup, and specification development
  • Attend and support all bus deliveries
  • Maintain strong customer relationships with a focus on retaining existing business and building new relationships

Industry Events & Representation

  • Attend state and industry conferences
  • Represent Carolina Thomas in a professional and positive manner

Assist with coordination of trade shows, booths, customer events, and related activities

Minimum Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Above-average computer skills
  • Systems used: RACE, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internal operating systems (Procede Software)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Ability to manage multiple internal and external projects
  • Strong customer communication and relationship skills
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Valid CDL driver’s license required
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging sales environments

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed
  • Willingness to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of multiple bus manufacturers and product lines

  • Compensation: Base salary with percentage commission
