Carolina Thomas is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead operations at our new Midland, NC location. This role is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial success of our parts and service operations—ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Operations
Oversee daily operations of the service, warranty, and parts departments
Lead, mentor, and develop managers, technicians, and support staff
Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and performance standards
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Service Department Oversight
Ensure timely, high-quality repairs and preventative maintenance
Monitor workflow, productivity, turnaround times, and quality control
Ensure compliance with DOT, state, and school bus safety regulations
Oversee warranty repairs, recalls, and manufacturer guidelines
Parts Department Oversight
Manage inventory control, ordering, pricing, and vendor relationships
Ensure parts availability to support service operations
Oversee accurate billing and warranty tracking
Implement cost-control measures to improve efficiency and margins
Financial & Performance Management
Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts
Track and analyze key performance metrics, including labor efficiency, parts margins, revenue, and expenses
Drive profitability through operational efficiency and strategic planning
Review financial performance and take corrective action as needed
Maintain accurate records for inspections, certifications, and audits
Enforce workplace safety policies and ensure proper training for all employees
Strategic Leadership
Identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement
Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning and goals
What We’re Looking For
5–10+ years of management experience in fleet maintenance, diesel, automotive, or school bus service operations
Proven experience managing parts and service departments
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L responsibility, and performance metrics
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education (Preferred)
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field
Minimum Requirements
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with business operating systems
Ability to work across departments including service, parts, and warranty
Strong communication skills with internal teams and OEM partners
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work both independently and collaboratively
