Body Shop Technician (Greensboro, NC)
Position Summary
Carolina Thomas is seeking a skilled Body Shop Technician to support paint and collision repair work in our Body Shop department. Under general supervision, this role is responsible for restoring vehicles to safe operating condition in accordance with OEM standards.
What You'll Do
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage requiring repair
- Perform intricate body shop repairs to restore vehicles to safe condition per OEM standards
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicles as needed for repair work
- Communicate daily with the Body Shop Manager on job status and progress
- Coordinate with Body Shop leadership and internal teams (Parts, Service, etc.) to ensure jobs are completed on schedule
- Inspect finished vehicles with the Body Shop Manager to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area
- Participate in the company’s Continuous Improvement Project to help drive departmental efficiency
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of intricate body shop repairs and vehicle preparation for paint work
- Ability to learn body shop processes, vehicle construction, equipment, and materials
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members, including body shop foreman, service technicians, parts personnel, painters, body technicians, and managers
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Required Abilities
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and processes
- Strong attention to detail with an “eye for quality” to ensure all repairs are completed safely
Position Details
- Position Type: Full-Time
- Reports To: Body Shop Manager
- Compensation: Hourly full-time with quarterly bonus if Body Shop Department is profitable
