At Carolina Thomas, we’re always looking for good ideas to make the Thomas Built bus even better. So we share customer suggestions with our manufacturer, Thomas Built Buses, and work with them to make improvements to the bus. A recent example is the Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2 fuel tank.
Saf-T-Liner C2 Fuel Tank Improvements
Based on customer feedback, these improvements to the fuel tank are now standard on every Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2:
- Improved prep and paint covering
- Drain slots designed into the impact cage to aid in flushing out road debris
- Sump added to drain plug area – reinforces tank to protect the weld in this area
- Optional – For customers that order the Thomas corrosion protection package, there is now an option to apply Polyurea coating to the fuel tank before it is installed in the chassis. For North Carolina customers, this option must be approved by NCDPI before ordering.
