The Saf-T-Liner HDX activity bus features a rear engine coach type design, which is ideal for athletic teams and large groups. The rear engine location makes this a very quiet unit and because there is no drive shaft running from front to rear large underbody storage is available. Capacities range from 66 to 90 passengers.

Because of the transit style of this vehicle, it features a shorter wheelbase for its length that translates to greater maneuverability and a shorter turning radius. The rear engine design makes for a very quiet ride and also this engine location results in ideal weight distribution which improves handling and control.
